Sutton United have named Jake Taylor as their new captain, with the midfielder signing a new 2-year deal to stay at Gander Green Lane. Taylor, who joined the club from Eastleigh in November 2025, has been a key player for the U's, making 24 league appearances and helping the team avoid relegation by five points. The 34-year-old takes over the captaincy from defender Edon Pruti, who was skipper for the 2025-26 campaign. Taylor said he was 'incredibly proud' to be named captain and is determined to do everything he can to help make the team successful. Manager Chris Agutter praised Taylor's impact since joining the club, saying he has been 'massive' in helping Sutton United turn their season around.
