Transfer Window Status
Lee Clark confirmed that Hartlepool United’s summer transfer activity is complete. The club released 13 players and signed 14, and Clark said there will be no further additions unless an injury crisis occurs.
Squad Performance
Hartlepool have started the National League campaign strongly, winning their first two games and keeping two clean sheets. The victories came at home against Barrow and away against Aldershot Town. The team will travel to Sutton United on Saturday.
Future Recruitment
Clark noted that the club has a “library of players” ready for potential future signings. He added that the club will remain ready to act until January, but “unless something crazy happens” they will stay put.
Dan Batty Speculation
Former York City midfielder Dan Batty, 28, is a free agent and has been linked with a move to Pools. Clark said he knows Batty well and considers him a terrific player, but he is currently satisfied with the squad’s balance and the impact of substitutes. Clark declined to add Batty to the squad.
Current Squad Depth
The midfield options include captain Jack Hunter, Jamie Miley and Nathan Sheron. Clark highlighted the importance of maintaining a balanced squad and avoiding unnecessary additions that could create headaches.
Upcoming Fixture
Hartlepool United will face Sutton United on Saturday, continuing their strong start to the season.
